PS Vita story and the must haves!

Finally after a long long wait Sony launches Vita in Europe on 22nd February 2012. I got a pretty nice deal from Elisa Shopit (Kajaani, Finland) where the 3G console was being sold for 299 Euros.
- It came with a Saunalahti prepaid SIM card with 1 month free internet on it.
- Additional top-up of 20 Euros credit (worth 35 days 3G) on SIM card gave you a free copy of Wipeout 2048.
- Also, as a pre-order bonus 20 Euros was discounted from any launch title. I got Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
- Then had to buy a "special" SD card for Vita worth 50 Euros for 16 GB size.

So in short, I never had the plan of buying the 3G version but I ended up buying one.
Poorer by 400 Euros but a satisfied gamer!

Naughty Dog of course as usual have proved again that they excel in what they produce. Uncharted : Golden Abyss comes with the PS3 experience added with the extra features based on Vita's hardware like accelerometer, touch screen, rear touch pads, etc. I will be honest in saying that playing Uncharted on a 5" OLED screen has the same level of immersion/experience as that of playing it on a big ass HD TV.
The photo above shows one of the puzzles that Drake had to solve like Nicholas Cage of National Treasure by exposing an old cryptic scroll to bright radiating light so that the ink appeared slowly. The gameplay was using the rear webcam and exposing that to a bright light source till the writing became clearer.

Wipeout 2048 as usual offers me the continued frustration of competing with super tough AI where a small error in gameplay comes with standing last in the race even though you were winning it. Nevertheless, it is an awesome game with excellent sound tracks and crisp high-res graphics. Studio Liverpool does it again!

Now, I needed something to play when I was on the shitpot and while in bed and about to crash. What can be better than a Tower Defence game on a handheld!

So I decided to buy PopCap's (recently acquired by EA - who else?) Plants Versus Zombies. It is a traditional TD game. The gameplay from campaign is decent in length considering the title cost 8.99 Euros. Additionally there are some nice minigames, puzzles and added features like Zen Garden and Zombie Avatar Editor to fool around with. And now a message for all the trophy whores - If you like TD and like trophy whoring definitely get this game. I bought it for TD and not so much for trophy whoring. If my mates are reading this, they must be smirking, but trust me I have somehow lost the interest.

Hope all these titles come with some DLC later. Looking forward to a good car racing title on the Vita. At the moment, Asphalt Injection and Ridge Racer both are suffering from poor reviews.
So, in short, a NFS or Burnout will definitely please the racing fans!
